Favorite Handmade Items!

Hey girls! I love going onto to handmade sellers' websites and looking at all of the creative, fun clothing, accessories, and jewelry that will compliment any style- whether you're a doll or a 13-year-old girl. So, here are some of my favorite handmade items!
You all know my obsession with The Hunger Games trilogy, right? With the premiere of the first movie less than 50 days away, I have to have a Hunger Games shirt! This LOVE tee is right up my alley- and while I may not purchase it, my mom and I may try to re-create it.
I absolutely love my school desk, and the seller now is selling more! These are amazing doll desks and are a perfect fit for any 18" doll. A bonus? You can buy two of these handmade desks for less than the price of the American Girl desk.
For some odd, unexplainable reason, I really love baseball tees (although I have never owned one myself. But, Liberty Jane is now selling miniature, logo, baseball tees for dolls! If your doll is a fan of baseball (or just loves Liberty Jane) this tee is for you! (They also have the pattern available if you'd rather make your own.)
I love Harry Potter and this Patronus necklace is way to awesome for words! I love the stag and sweet little words bubble necklace.

So, what are some of you favorite handmade items? Have you purchased any that you really love? Tell me in the comments section!

ps. also, the Movie Quote Quiz answers and blog awards will be up later this week!

Liberty Jane Spring Collection: Yay or Nay?

Hey! So I know many of you love Liberty Jane Clothing, especially their shoes and separates, but have you ever bought a Spring or Fall line collection outfit? For the past 2 years, LJC has made International inspired outfits. It's not finished yet, but do you like their current outfits in their Spring Collection?

The first two outfits released in the European collection is Euro Libby: Sorrento. The outfit was inspired by Sorrento, Italy. Included in an embroidered black top, jeans shorts, and cute ballet flats with lace detail. The  thread on the shirt looks hand embroidered, but it could also be ribbon. It's also currently on eBay for $55.00, but it doesn't look worth that high of a price. Also, I feel that the only original piece in this look is the top. So, Yay or Nay? Nay.

The second outfit released was Euro Libby: Salina- based on Salina, Italy. This outfit includes a fun, flowered sundress, a beaded necklace, and silver strappy sandals. I personally think this set is adorable! This cute dress reminds me of some place warm and sunny, yet a bit old fashioned and beautiful- like Italy. Although I think it's a bit overpriced (it's currently at $55.00 on eBay), but definitely adorable. So, Yay or Nay? Yay!

The first outfit released in the Malibu line was Malibu Libby: Ready for Ruby's. The outfit is totally in style in California- and the rest of the US, but does it win over with me? Well, I like the style, but the only interesting piece in the outfit is the flowered tank top. It's currently at $61.00- way too much (in my opinion) for an outfit that doesn't even include shoes. I like it, but not love it. So, Yay or Nay? Nay.

This first look in the Caribbean line is Caribbean Libby: Sandy Lane. Sandy Lane includes a tropical, floral sundress, a simple black tank top for layering, and a silver charm necklace. I personally love this look! It's so cute and funky, with fresh and bold colors (although no shoes :-( ). It's perfect for the Caribbean and I love how it looks on Jess! It's a bit pricey at $57.00 right now, but still adorable. So, Yay or Nay? Yay!

But what do you think? I will totally do more of these posts when 4 more outfits are released, but I look forward to posting some of your comments about these looks on a new post!

Liberty Jane

Hey everyone! I am off to Florida (this is a timed post) with Felicity with me! Anyways, I want to share with you a video and photos of my purchase.

First, I love my items that I ordered! They are both very high quality and very cute and great for mixing and matching!

Here are some pictures!

I love this photo!

This is the skirt. It's ruffled and it has an elastic band at the top so it can stretch onto any doll. I really like this so I can fit it on my Madame Alexander dolls and on a bigger body AG doll.
These boots are super cute! They are darker than I expected, but I love them either way. The Moccasin Fringe boots are a good price and high quality too!

Have you ever ordered anything from Liberty Jane?

A Misc. Post

Hey! This is a very Misc. post. I have many things to share, and I hope you can take them in all in one post!

First, I would just like to apologize for not posting as often as I used, I am in some very time-consuming activities and have taken up a new hobby, Scrapbooking! However, I will continue to upload my SevenAGStars videos every Wednesday, and of course, keep posting on this blog!

Secondly, I didn't make into the AGMA. And you know what? I'm not bummed about. Although, I enjoyed being part of the biggest AG YouTube contest, I have to admit, American Girl Project Runway was more fun and challenging. So, I hope to make it into that contest! Also, what if I started my own contest? Like the AGMA, but for Bloggers, with fun prizes. What do you think of that?

Third, I got an e-mail today from Liberty Jane advertising their new products. They have added some new Buy It Now items, that I love! Like the Berry Ribbed Tank and Layered Skirt.
I really love this outfit and I think it would look great with the Moccasin Fringe Boots that I've had my eye one.

I really would like all 3 of these pieces, but together, it would be $34.98- and that doesn't even include shipping! I would love some of these pieces, but they're kind of expensive and I know I could make the shirt.

So what do you think? Do you think that I should start my own contest? Do you think $34.98 is really worth it? Do you think that there are other human life forms in the galaxy? Just kidding on the last one, but I would love to know your opinion on the other two.

Kanani, Liberty, and Michael!

Hey! After a long awaited week here is a juicy post full of: GOTY 2011 info, Liberty Jane Fall line, and Michael's American Girl Crafts and books!

First GOTY 2011 info-
I was looking for some info on Kanani last night and found that American Girl registered the trademark for Kanani last January.
Which inspired me to create a fake photo of Kanani on what she might look like:
It's not very nice but I use MAG 49 and placed Asian eyes on her in an attempt to create an Asian face mold with medium skin. This isn't great but this is what I think of Kanani.

The Liberty Jane Fall line has finally come out with 3 outfits (still one to come)!
The first one (and my favorite) would have to be Sofia. An preppy Italian style outfit not listed on eBay- yet.

It's sooooo cute!
The next (and my second favorite) would have to be Paris Daydream. This is a twist on the summer in Paris Outfit but a whole lot more glamourous and it's available on eBay!
This is outfit is really cute and currently on eBay for $51.00. I am thinking of bidding.........
The third and my least favorite outfit is Oxford Square. To me, it has a sort of preppy look but it doesn't look designer and has no spark to it.
I  know many people disagree with me (this is on eBay for $61.00) but I feel that it doesn't have any flair.

Michael's Craft Store- Yesterday, we went to Michael's craft store, I took some pictures of many of the cool American Girl Crafts they have there. Check it out!
They had AG puffy Christmas stickers on sale for $.99!
They also had InnerstarU books (big surprise there) but they only had 3 titles- Fork in the Trail, Braving the Lake, and a Girl's Best Friend. (Speaking of Fork in the Trail, I have a book review on that at my Book Reviews page.) They also had many, many AG products-

They even had Lanie Stacked Stickers (adorable!)
But I think my favorite picture of yesterday was this one-

Awesome New Sale!

Hey! As many of you know, I love sales! And right now AG is having an amazing Spotlight Savings sale. They are selling some high quality clothes for about $4-$5 less and girls clothing for up to $10 less.
American Girl has started this trend where they seem to be selling retired clothing and accessories for cheaper than they were originally. Here are some of my favorites!

The Ruthie Mini Doll! For: $18

Rebecca's Movie Dress! For: $27

Eyelet Sundress for Dolls (really Gwen's Meet Outfit)! For: $20
Snowboard Accessories! For: $26

Oak and Acorn Outfit (even though this is not for "18 dolls, I still think it's so cute)! For: $19

I still think it's funny that AG is selling some of Chrissa's collection, yet she's retired. I just realized that AG hasn't been selling any other GOTY's collection but Chrissa's even though the Snuggly Snow PJ's they have for sale are from 2008- where is Mia's collection?

Oh, well, I thought I might share with you that I am auditioning tomorrow for the a big part in the upcoming production at a local theater. I'm so excited! It's also a paid job so if I get- I could buy some AG and Liberty Jane items- yay!
Speaking of Liberty Jane, they're are having their Summer Design Contest! And I'm entering!

Making A Western Outfit........

Hey everybody! I just thought I would post this quick update. I am going to make a western outfit! I haven't exactly started but I'm planning to start tonight. I will use the Liberty Jane t-shirt pattern (probably) and some plaid fabric. Then I will either make or buy some jeans. Do you think I should make them? Or should I order them? Now for the boots. Obviously I'm not experienced enough to make them so I was thinking of ordering them off of Liberty Jane.
But the cost would total up to $19 which would come out of my doll money. Do you think I should order them? Is it worth it? I would really appreciate your comments about Liberty Jane as I really can't decide!

Thanks,
Gabby

PS: I would really liked it if you could check out the doll's new blog- From a Doll's Perspective!

An Adventure in Sewing......

Hey! I finally finished my Liberty Jane T-shirt today! I had some help with my mom because some of the instructions in the pattern are a little unclear and some parts are hard to do. For the most part though, it turned out fine and I'm very happy with it!!!

I chose a nice lavender fabric to make my shirt out of. I got it in the bag of fabric I got at ThreadFest (to see the photostory on it, click here). It was great because it wouldn't stretch and their was no grain to worry about! I'm very pleased with the shirt because it's simple and will go with a lot of things.

Updates: I have started a new page called AG Book Reviews! There you can read summaries and book reviews on AG books.
Alexis is having a contest over at American Girl Today! Click here to check it out!

An Update!!!

Hey! I'm sorry for not posting much- we are really busy lately. But, I hope to post some of my pics soon!

I'm in the process of making a t-shirt for my dolls using the Liberty Jane pattern I got for free. It's turning out pretty well and I'm thinking of adding a little touch to it once we're done............

I'm also really disappointed-- someone hacked into the AGMA YouTube account and deleted the whole account! I'm very upset about this as my sister and I entered! But, they created a new account so hopefully they will start the contest up again.

Guess what? I may go to Chicago this summer with my aunt and little cousin! I'm sooo happy because we will go to the AG Place there!!! I already have $53.10 saved up so I will be able to afford a doll in a few months. I also know which doll I will be getting(if I get a doll)- JLY 37! She is just darling!

I think I will name her either Katrina, Katriel (Kate for short), or Katherine. Which name do you like best? Which name do you think fits her? I would really appreciate your comments as I really can't decide! I may also just get some clothes and food sets instead of a doll. Which do you think I should get- clothes&accessories or a doll?

Thanks,
Gabby
