Change of Heart {Contest 2 Posts Below!}

Hi! I've had a change of heart.

About a doll.

Whom, until January 6th, I did not like.

Can you guess who it is?

Yes, Miss Kanani.

Surprisingly, my sister received her for her birthday after we were told 'No More AG Dolls' from my parents.

But anyway, I find Kanani quite cute and she has a great story. It's something every girl can relate too. Although I wish she looked more Hawaiian with brown eyes or black hair, but she's great just the way she is.

She has gorgeous, long, wavy hair....
She looks amazing with side ponytails, yes I did that. :-)

She is such a great character. I would recommend her to anyone! If you have her, or would like to get her, her are some thing you want to know-----

  • To style her hair (and keep the wave in), lightly mist Kanani's hair, use the hair pick on her curls, but start using the brush as you go up. (start at the bottom)
  • Her meet outfit is much cuter in real life- you can't judge from AG's stock photo.
  • Her flower clip can get caught in her very easily, so take it out gently.
Also, my sister getting a 5th doll also means I can get one too. Though I won't be purchasing another dolly any time soon, I am thinking about it.

Natalee

Hi!

So from my good old friend Santa Claus, my sister, Kayla, received Natalee.

Yes, she is a doll.

A Madame Alexander Doll.

She has brown eyes.

And Brown Curly Hair.

And loves the water.

She's really pretty- especially with her hair down (sorry, no pictures of that yet!)

Her full name is Natalee Mae Dixon- I came up with the name Natalee- it means born on Christmas Day!

Also, my sister is having a giveaway for some winter wear over at Forever American Girl.

Check it out!

Polls Results and Kayla's Blog!

Hey everyone! I just want to say that I'm really excited for Kanani- and it helps that everyone else voted to see what she will look like! And I'm here with the results.
Hmmm.....I think she will have black hair but it seems as if the majority disagrees with me! Oh well, we will just have to wait and see her.....
Definitely brown! I think that she would be cool with Hazel eyes, unfortunately Lanie and Rebecca (the newest HC) both have Hazel eyes, so she probably won't.
Of course medium skin, however it is very possible that she could have dark of light skin. It just depends how much of a Hawaiian she is.
Oh and I just noticed this, I spelt 'you' wrong.

Anyways, my sister Kayla, has a blog! She just started posting today and she is very proud of it. I also really enjoyed helping her- I created the header but she choose the color scheme and everything, you can visit her blog Forever American Girl.
Thanks,
Gabby

Re-Done American Girl Site!

Hey! As it always seems, American Girl never ceases to amaze me (or disgust me) which was why I was horrified at the re-done American Girl site- (when Kayla showed me it) not the design but what was on it.........

Such as this:
TV COMMERCIAL????? REALLY????? That's what Barbies and Liv dolls do- not hundred-dollar-dolls. OK, AG is getting kind of crazy. And the Wish List? Because Microsoft Word is just too easy.....

And now, they seem to plaster everything MAG with doodles:
It just doesn't seem like AG anymore. All they care about is making money- not making little girls happy (with the exception of the AGP workers- they are so nice!)

But AG has also done something that I actually like.
They put Kaya on their Bookstore image! They actually are doing something to promote Historcals and plus, they almost never feature Kaya. ;-)

They also have changed their gift cards up- with 2 new ones! The Birthday Gift Card- doll ad Holiday Gift Card- love are new to the AG website- I have to say they are quite cute.
And last but not least, AGP are now offering another purchase-with-purchase item- a sweater and hat set! Personally I love the hat but the sweater looks very thin and not high quality.

So, what are some of your favorite/non-favorite new AG website features?

PS American Girl is now offering Historical Character Christmas Sets. You can save $10 when you buy this way!

Kayla's Background

Hey everyone! I'm really sorry about not posting as often as I usually do. I have long rehearsals about everyday and now timed posts have become my best friend. Anyways, today while I was logging off my sister, Kayla's, computer account, I noticed that she had a new background! Check it out:
My mom helped my sister with it. My mom used Photoshop to crop around Lanie and her animals then pasted them into an already taken photo. It's turned out pretty well! I think the butterflies are probably the most realistic thing in the image. What do you think?

Feel free to use this photo as your desktop background if you want too!

Beaded Blessings

Hey! This past weekend my mom, Kayla, and I went to the Beaded Blessing Project at the same place where ThreadFest was. I brought Kirsten (Kayla brought Rebecca) and we went and sewed away! The idea was to create little bags to put prayers in but I think my project (even if it isn't a bag) speaks for itself! check out the pics below. :-)
An adventure by the beads!

Kayla's Sleepover!

For my sister's birthday sleepover, she decided to have an American Girl themed party. Here are some of the highlights!

This is the cake me and my mom made. For the cake toppers, we used the game pieces from the American Girl Treasures Game. It looked great. Here are some close-ups.
In the morning I did Kayla's friends' dolls' hair. Here are the pix.
