I Need YOUR Help!

Hiya!
I'm starting a brand new page to help families, moms, and girls plan the perfect American Girl Place experience through reviews, tips, and tricks from people just like them! However, I need your help! Please read the questions below. If you can answer any of them (ex. 'The food was great and excellent service!' or 'The Doll Salon hair stylist rushed- not worth the $20.') please comment below with your first name and state/country!

  • Have you eaten at an American Girl Bistro or Cafe? What did you order? Was it good? How was the service?
  • Have you ever made a Creativi-Tee? Was it worth the $10?
  • Have you ever used a personal shopper? Was he/she great? Was it worth the time or was it better to pick out your own items?
  • Have you ever gone to the Doll Hair Salon and had your doll's hair styled/ears' pierced? Was the style worth the price? Was the staff friendly?
  • Have you ever gone to the Photo Studio? Was it worth it? Was it fun?
  • Have you ever used the concierge service? Was the staff helpful there?
  • How was your overall experience? Did you go at a busy time of year? Was the staff friendly and helpful?
I'm sorry if this seems like a lot, but reviews are greatly needed- especially for AG locations that I've never been too! Even if you only know the answer to one question, it's still greatly appreciated. If you can, please give a small review (even if it's negative!), this will help many parents and girls plan the perfect AGP experience!

Thank you and look forward to reading the answers to your questions!

Hey Gabby,
I have gotten my dolls ears peirced at the AG Place! It was really good. We had a cheery lady who helped us. She took my new (at the time) doll Alison back into a room. It was like 3 seconds until she came back out. She was making jokes about how bad Ali was and ect. It was really great, the earrings and holes are very good quality and straight. I loved my experience with the Doll Ear Piercing! Definetly worth the $14!!!

#1: The AG Bistro and Cafe are a lot of fun! You can have a fun discussion with your family with the table talkers, and spend time with your doll who can sit right next to you. It is really expensive so I would suggest not going too often. Overall I enjoyed my experience there!

#2-6: No, sorry.

#7: I always enjoy the AGP a any time of year. Busy or empty, I have a lot of fun with my friends and family there. The staff is really friendly, and my mom and I had a pleasant chat with a really kind staff member when I last went! If you have the chance to go to an AGP, you should!

1: yes, I ordered the chicken fingers/pretzel bites (pardon my spelling) and the chockolate cake. All the food was AMAZING and the service was exceptional. eating there was definately my favorite part of the day.
2: No, sorry, I haven't made one.
3: What's a personal shopper?
4: I haven't but my sister has. Her doll always comes out looking great, but I don't think people should pay 20$ for two braids.
5: No, haven't been there either.
6: Nope. haven't used that, either.
7: I ALWAYS love going there. the staff is always so nice and I always think it's just an overall fun thing to do. :D

Hi Gabby!
I love that idea!
Here are my answers...

#1: I've eaten at the bistro for lunch. I ordered the mac and cheese, fruit, and a cookie {or something of that nature} The food was okay. The service was fabulous and our waitress was SO nice! I don't know if you would want to spend your money every time, but for a one-time thing, it is probably worth it.

#2 and #3: I have never made a tee, nor have I had a personal shopper.

#4: Yes, I have to get my dolls' hair done and ears pierced. The earrings are worth the price, but the hairstyling is a bit too expensive. The staff is usually pretty friendly, but there are some that are just grumpy.

#5: Nope.

#6: Going to AG is such a treat! I think the busiest times of year are the holidays and the GOTY release. One night, however, I was one of the two families there! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and they give great advice!

Sorry for such the long comment, but I hope that helped!

1. Yes, three times. I can't remember exactly what I got every time, but I remember having on different visits: cheesecake, cookies and cream icebox pie, mini cheeseburgers & fries, warm pretzel bread, and possibly some other things too. It was AMAZINGLY good!! The service was good too.
2. No
3. What is a personal shopper?
4. No, but my best friend had her Julie's hair styled. She said the stylist did a fairly good job and the lady was really nice, but it was a lot of money.
5. No
6. No
7. Overall experience was great. People were nice, food was wonderful:), and I loved just wandering around looking at all the dolls. I've never been there around Christmas but I'm sure it would be busy.

Oh--by the way--all my answers were for the Atlanta store.

Looking forward to the page! This was fun. ;-)

Hi Gabby! What a neat idea first off! I'd be happy to help you since I have visited the Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, and New York A.G. Places countless times!
I have eaten at the Dallas Bistro and it was very good! The service was average and the manager was very rushed and almost knocked my doll out of her seat.
As for the Creativi-tees, I made two in Kansas City and one in New York. In Kansas City, they actually apply the Creativi-tee graphic in front of you. Vs. the New York A.G. Place where they either take it in the back to do or give you one that has already been made. They are very high-quality tees regardless, and defiantly worth the $10!
I used a personal shopper in Kansas City, and she was just marvelous! Her name was Barb and she was awesome in knowing about every item I was interested in and even those I was not but became interested in!
I had my doll's hair done at the Hair Salon in Dallas countless times and the ladies are always wonderful in styling and very nice. This also was true in Kansas City and Denver. I had my doll's ears pierced in Dallas and it wasn't very fun because they take your doll in the back and you don't get to see!
I went to the photo studio in New York and it wasn't anything special. The lady taking your photo is average but the finished product is pretty neat to take home.
I've never used the concierge service.
My favorite overall experience would have to have been at the Kansas City A.G. Place because of the really nice people and services, I also went there when they very first opened, which was very busy. My least favorite store is the one in New York because of the un-pleasant people.(Again, you have to remember where you are too) The experiences at the A.G. Places in Dallas and Denver were average.
I hope that was helpful! I'm glad that this will be helping fellow A.G. lovers!

I've had Kirsten's ears peirced, it's quik and easy, only 14 dolalrs and comes with lot's of earrings.. however, they totally messed op Rebeca's earrings and they are weird and look bad when you take the earrings out.. so you decide if you want to take the chance of getting it like that.. Oh and before I forget to tell you: Kirsten's perfect peireced ears were gotten in Minneapolis
Rebeca's were in Denver..

Overall, it's a magical day to be at the AG place!

I have gotten my doll's hair done, and I thought the hairstyle was spectacular! The girl who did my doll, Olivia's (Lanie) hair, did her hair neatly & gave me tips on how to maintain her hair. She was also very nice! I've only been to AGP once, but it was a fantastic experience!

ALL of it is expensive! I won a AG contest so I got to go but I could NEVER afford it otherwise!
1: It was amazing. I ordered a salmon thingy(I still ate meat then!) a salad and an awesome chocolate mouse. The service was awesome. Everyone was super nice!
2: Kind of… Not really!
3: It was fun. She was super nice, but again she came in the contest prize deal so if it is just regular I would not get her/him. I liked her a lot.
4: I got a really elaborate cool hair style that regularly would have only cost 20$. they were all nice.
5: Never been
6: Nope, never been
7: It was not super busy but everyone was sooooo nice!

I did eat at the Bistro and it was fantastic! I ordered something that was like the picnic special or something like that and I loved it! The service was great and they treated me and my dolls so sweetly. I also sent a few of my dolls to the hair salon. I picked a braid and it was worth the price. She also got her ears pierced. That was worth the price too because I got a set of earrings. The staff was so friendly! They asked me all about my dolls and their clothes. The overall experience was amazing. I went when in the summer so it wasn't super busy. The staff was so friendly! Everything was worth the price and whatever wait there was. I hope I helped!
